Sync and transfer your vault
Premium users can sync their encrypted vault across all devices signed into the same Apple ID. iCloud Sync uses Apple's CloudKit to transfer data — but only already-encrypted data leaves your device. We cannot decrypt your synced data.
Enable iCloud Sync in Settings. The first sync may take some time depending on your vault size.
The sync settings screen shows your current sync status, including the last successful sync time, the number of pending uploads, and any failed items. You can see at a glance whether your vault is fully synced.
Use the "Sync Now" button to trigger a manual sync, or tap "Retry Failed" to re-attempt any items that failed to upload.
To save cellular data, you can restrict iCloud Sync to Wi-Fi connections only. When enabled, sync will pause when you're on cellular data and resume automatically when you connect to Wi-Fi.
This setting is available in the Cloud Sync settings screen.
Premium users can transfer files between their vault and a computer over the local Wi-Fi network. Privara starts a local web server on your device, protected by a PIN code and QR code authentication.
Open the displayed URL in any browser on your computer to upload or download files. Data travels directly between your devices on your local network — nothing is routed through external servers.
When using WiFi Transfer, Privara displays a QR code that contains the connection URL and authentication credentials. Scan this code with your computer's camera or a QR reader to instantly connect.
This eliminates the need to manually type the URL and PIN, making the connection process quick and error-free.
