Organize content into albums

Creating and Customizing Albums

Create albums to organize your vault content. Free users can create up to 3 albums; Premium users get unlimited albums. Each album can hold photos, videos, notes, and documents.

Customize each album with a name, icon, and color. You can also set a cover photo from the album's content or choose a custom cover with an icon and color combination.

Sub-Albums and Nested Folders

Albums can contain sub-albums, allowing you to create a nested folder structure for fine-grained organization. There's no limit to nesting depth.

Sub-albums inherit the parent album's password protection — if a parent album is locked, all sub-albums within it are also locked.

Password-Protected Albums

Individual albums can be password-protected with a separate password. When you navigate to a locked album, you'll need to enter the album password to view its contents.

You can also unlock a password-protected album by entering your master vault passcode, so you don't need to remember a separate password for every album.

Shared Albums via CloudKit (Premium)

Premium users can share albums with other Privara users via Apple's CloudKit. Create a share link and send it to anyone — they can join the album and contribute content. All shared content is encrypted end-to-end.

You can manage participants from the album members sheet, and the album owner can remove members at any time. Per-album encryption keys are derived using HKDF from the master key, ensuring each shared album has its own unique key.

Album Slideshow

Start a slideshow from any album to display its photos in full-screen mode with automatic advancement. The slideshow uses the same interval settings as the gallery slideshow (2, 4, or 8 seconds).

This is a great way to review album content hands-free.
